My situation

passionlily started this conversation

Hi,

I'm a college student in my 20's who recently has been dropped from attending classes.  The reason being is that I have a large balance on my student account that hasn't been paid.  The university reserves to right to drop any student who hasn't made any payments.  Thus, I'm currently a college dropout. I cannot re-enroll until I pay at least 25% of my bill, the university cashiers office placed a hold on my account that prevents me from re-enrolling.  The current balance on my account is $2585, my university also places late fees and finance charges on accounts that have not been paid.  I do receive financial aid, however, there were recent changes to  financial aid regulations which doesn't allow for me to pay balances from previous semesters, hence is why I have such a large balance.   I don't have to pay the entire balance to re-enroll, just 25%. Which makes it about $600.

I am out of options at this point, I have been looking for a job but thus far I haven't had any luck.  I have also looked into to getting a private loan, but I lack credit history, I have applied with several co-signers, but I guess they didn't have good credit.  Several of my family members have financial difficulties of their own, so no help from them.

I only have one semester left to go, and if I can at least pay the 25% I will be able to graduate in May of 2011.

If anyone is willing to help or know where I can get help, please feel free to post it in the comments.

Thank you and blessings.
